Wholesale, without the guesswork.
From sourcing and importing to inspection, acclimation, and final delivery, OrchidBox manages the difficult parts of plant procurement so you can focus on finding the right inventory for your business.
Sourcing & Ordering
Where do you source your plants?
We source plants globally from established growers and nurseries with whom we have developed trusted relationships. This gives us access to an unusually broad selection of species, cultivars, and specialty material while allowing us to maintain consistent standards for quality and accuracy.
Who qualifies for OrchidBox Wholesale?
OrchidBox Wholesale is currently available to customers making qualifying sales-tax-exempt purchases, including online plant sellers, garden centers, florists, designers, nurseries, and other businesses purchasing plants for resale.
Minimum quantities vary by item and are listed on the applicable product page.
If you are purchasing for personal use but are interested in a large bulk order, contact support@orchidbox.io for a custom quote.
How do I submit a Request for Quote (RFQ)?
Submitting an RFQ works just like placing a normal order, but no payment is required.
Simply add the plants and quantities you're interested in to your cart, proceed to checkout, and enter your contact and shipping information. At the payment step, select “Submit RFQ Only” as your payment method.
Your request will then be sent to our team for review. We’ll confirm availability, pricing, estimated timing, shipping, and any applicable volume discounts before you decide whether to proceed. Submitting an RFQ does not commit you to an order and no payment is collected.
What is the typical lead time?
Most wholesale orders have an estimated lead time of approximately 2–3 months. Timing can be shorter or longer depending on the grower, plant availability, import scheduling, inspections, and the particular items in your order.
We provide a more specific estimated timeline after reviewing your RFQ.
Resale & Tax Exemption
Do I need an LLC or corporation to purchase for resale?
No. You do not necessarily need to form an LLC or corporation simply to purchase merchandise for resale. Individuals and sole proprietors may also make qualifying resale purchases.
You do, however, need to provide the appropriate resale or tax-exemption documentation required for your purchase.
What is a resale certificate?
A resale certificate documents that merchandise is being purchased for resale rather than for the purchaser's own use. When we have appropriate documentation on file, qualifying purchases can be made without OrchidBox collecting sales tax on that transaction.
The purchaser remains responsible for complying with the tax and resale requirements applicable to their business and jurisdiction.
Why does OrchidBox need my resale documentation?
We are required to maintain documentation supporting sales-tax-exempt transactions. For that reason, resale or exemption certificates must be completed with the required information before we can approve an account for tax-exempt wholesale purchasing.
Shipping & Plant Care
How are wholesale plants shipped?
Unlike many suppliers that direct-ship from an overseas grower, OrchidBox receives your plants first. We inspect the shipment for quality, condition, and accuracy before forwarding your order.
Once cleared for delivery, plants are typically shipped by air from Dallas to minimize transit time and reduce stress on the plants.
How much does shipping cost?
Many standard orders fall in the range of approximately $30–$70 for final domestic shipping, although actual costs depend on the size, weight, destination, packaging requirements, and number of plants in the shipment.
Because wholesale shipments vary substantially, shipping cannot be accurately calculated automatically at checkout.
Why is shipping billed separately?
Wholesale shipping is calculated after your order is submitted so we can determine the most appropriate packaging and service based on the final shipment.
A placeholder appears during checkout indicating that shipping will be billed separately. We normally calculate the actual cost and issue the shipping invoice within 2–3 days.
If you have a preferred carrier, account number, or other shipping instructions, please include them with your order.
Do you guarantee live arrival?
Yes. OrchidBox guarantees live arrival of our imported plants. Because every shipment passes through our facility first, we can inspect the plants before final delivery rather than relying solely on an overseas grower's packing and quality control.
What happens during extreme weather?
Plant health takes priority over a rigid shipping schedule. We monitor weather conditions at both the origin and destination and may hold a shipment when severe heat, cold, storms, or other conditions create an unnecessary risk to the plants.
Do you offer acclimation services?
Yes. Optional acclimation and related plant-care services are available for an additional charge. These services can be particularly useful for sensitive imported material or customers who prefer to receive plants after an initial stabilization period.
Order Policies
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans can change. A 10% restocking charge may apply to canceled orders after an order has been confirmed.
If OrchidBox is unable to fulfill an order because of product unavailability or an inability to meet an agreed deadline, the restocking charge is waived.
Looking for something specific?
If you have a specific species list, quantity requirement, timeline, or shipping request, submit an RFQ or email support@orchidbox.io. We can review your request and help determine the best sourcing option.
